Intolerable Relatives-in-Facebook Syndrome

Disclaimer: All the persons mentioned in this article are completely real. Any resemblance to real persons, especially your relatives, is purely intentional. This article is a collective opinion based on extreme research done on real life experiences of persons between age 25 and 30, who have been using Facebook since their college years.

I have got a real bad feeling that the world is coming to an end! Reason: My relatives have joined Facebook. I mean the older generation.  Being blessed to have really cool parents who have been using Facebook, sending mails, enjoying being online pretty much like any other non-computer-student in their 20s, I find the lameness of my relatives a little less tolerable and a little more annoying than their real life presence.

Navaratri special!

When you mention the festival of Navaratri, generally people think of Bengali Durga pooja and their incredibly beautiful Durga idols; or the Gujarati Garba dance on grounds for Falguni Pathak's performance. But in this post I will introduce you all to the Navaratri celebrations at my place Mangalore.
Navaratri literally means 9 nights. We worship 9 incarnations of Goddess Durga. Here are the 9 incarnations in pics.

Lonely boat!

A moment of storm and then,
Lonely as never before!

The picture was taken by me in Thaneerbavi, Mangalore. It is one of the beaches in Mangalore, a quite special one at that. You go to the bank of Gurpura river to find Sulthan Battery watch tower (4kms away from the city), constructed in 1784 by Tipu Sultan  to prevent English warships from entering the Gurupura river. Then you cross the river by boat and then walk for 2 minutes to reach the beach.
